Three underage teenagers who are under arrest in connection with the charges in the murder of 19-year-old football player Georgy Shakarashvili, went on a hunger strike. About this, according to the agency InterprossNews, on August 20, the lawyer of one of the accused Georgy Gelkhauri told reporters. According to the lawyer, minors require interrogation on a lie detector in order to prove their innocence. I appeal to the People's Advocate and all interested persons who are included in this case, pay attention to this justice and the court, the interests of minors are not taken into account at all, Gelhauri said. He also asked the Minister of Justice to pay attention to the detention of adolescents. According to him, after they went on a hunger strike, the guards took the TV from the cell and forbade them to communicate with family members, including by phone. According to the news agency, Shakarashvili was found dead in the river. The investigation found that he was beaten and dumped in the water. In this case, 17 people were detained, including six minors. Five, of whom two did not reach adulthood, are accused of premeditated murder, the rest of illegal imprisonment.
