In Ukraine, called an unfriendly step the release of Minsk citizens of the Russian Federation
The release of 32 Russian citizens detained in Belarus at the end of July was called an unfriendly step towards Ukraine by the secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Alexei Danilov on the department's Facebook page. Unfortunately, the Belarusian authorities made a non-legal decision that does not correspond to the spirit of bilateral relations and is an unfriendly step towards Ukraine, he wrote. Danilov added that the decision will negatively affect relations between the two countries, since in Kiev they have enough evidence of the participation of detainees in the armed conflict in the Donbass. According to the news agency, previously 32 of the 33 Russian citizens detained near Minsk returned to their homeland. One member of the group remained in Belarus, as he has the citizenship of this country. The decision taken in Minsk was criticized earlier by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. They reminded the Belarusian side of the principle of reciprocity in matters of international legal assistance and extradition.
