Iran, Uzbekistan discuss expansion of cooperation

On July 25, Iranian and Uzbek officials during a videoconference emphasized the importance of expanding road transport in the framework of expanding bilateral cooperation. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA. Among the officials attending the meeting were the Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran, the Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan, the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Tehran and the representative of the Iranian Embassy in Tashkent. Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Abdolhash Hassania referred to the conditions created by the spread of coronavirus infection, and said that attention has always been paid to the development of economic cooperation. The development of road transport in cooperation with Uzbekistan is one of the priorities of the Iranian Ministry of Roads, he said. Hassania stressed that Iran is ready to share with Uzbekistan its knowledge and experience in various areas of road transport, maintenance and intelligent transport systems. According to him, road transport relations between the two countries have been on the rise since the signing of the agreement in 2014, and, of course, they will continue to grow.
