Tokayev congratulates residents of Kazakhstan on the Day of Unity of the People

Kazakh leader Kasim-Zhomart Tokayev congratulated the compatriots on the Day of Unity of the People of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Head of State reported on May 1. The President noted that the basis of the strategic course of Kazakhstan remains peace and public harmony. Tokayev believes that in 2020 this holiday takes on special importance due to the coronavirus pandemic. The head of state expressed confidence that Kazakhstan will cope with all difficulties and will achieve new successes on the path of creation and progress. It should be noted that since 1996, May 1 in Kazakhstan is celebrated as the Day of Unity of the People. Former President of the Republic Nursultan Nazarbayev signed the relevant decree in 1995.
