Reasons for the transfer of Indonesia's capital are named

Indonesia's ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Wahid Supriyadi, told the news agency in an interview about the reasons for moving the state's capital from Java Island to Kalimantan, confirming the Indonesian government's intention to implement the process by 2024. First, Jakarta is currently home to too many people, it's constant traffic jams. Therefore, it is planned to make Jakarta the business capital, and the government to move to Kalimantan. Secondly, natural disasters, mostly floods, often occur in Jakarta. Third, Kalimantan is a stable territory where there are practically no earthquakes or other disasters, said Mohamad Wahid Supriyadi. According to the Ambassador of Indonesia, the reason for the transfer of the capital was also the intention of the Head of State Joko Widodo to actively develop other territories of the country. More than 55% of the population of the country live in Java, it is about 150 million people.
