Iranian Ambassador: US position against resolution 2231 poses a threat to peace

On July 2, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) to Pakistan announced that US intervention in the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 2231 threatened the whole world, while the Ambassador urged the United Nations to pay attention to economic terrorism against the Iranian people. This was reported by the Iranian agency IRNA on July 3. Ambassador Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini in a series of tweets noted that the US approach to the JCPOA is a bold and at the same time gloomy decision to improve the peacekeeping function of the UN Security Council, as well as a pure inflationary in reflecting Iran's cooperation with the IAEA. The diplomat stressed: The failure of the United States to comply with most of the provisions of the UN Security Council resolution/ Res2231 is a manifestation of a threat to international peace. US economic terrorism, which caused huge economic and non-economic damage to the Iranian nation, should be subject to a negative assessment, he said. Iran remains committed to its obligations, as evidenced by the 15 IAEA reports. The Islamic Republic of Iran calls on the international community to respect resolution 2231 and its provisions, Hosseini said.
